Sometimes a Break is Needed

Sometimes we just need to take a step back from research and the day-to-day to appreciate and enjoy those around us.  That is exactly what the C2E2 team did.  It was a break that we all seemed to appreciate.  It was a time to enjoy others through conversation, good food and fun games.

The lawn next to the C2E2 building was the perfect place and fortunately the weather was cooperating that day.  C2E2 members and Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) students came together for this picnic. The afternoon was about getting to know each other and team building while enjoying a few hamburgers and dogs. Students, faculty and staff from the main campus, the Engineering Science Building, and Depot campus enjoyed the afternoon festivities.

From cornhole to frisbee to tug-of-war, it was a most enjoyable afternoon.  There was some competition between the C2E2 graduate students and the REU students through a game of tug-of-war.  It was a game of muscle and brawn, with the REU students leaving with bragging rights.  Students were both partners and competitors with their faculty advisors in a game of cornhole.  It is not every day we get to take the time to let those around us know that they are appreciated for their contributions to research and their dedication and support of the center and its activities.
